Our Mission

IRCNA exists at the intersection of two vital needs in Armenia: Independent Journalism and Community Networking. We believe that the media landscape shouldn’t be a battleground for partisan agendas; instead, it should be a mirror for the Armenian experience and a bridge to opportunity.

The Origin: Why We Exist

For too long, the narrative in Armenia has been filtered through established entities with entrenched biases. Young Armenians are tired of being tugged between conflicting perspectives. I created IRCNA to offer an alternative: strictly nonpartisan, no-politics, and grassroots-focused reporting.

The real “Aha!” moment, however, went beyond just reporting. I saw a surplus of immense talent—young people in Armenia with boundless potential who lacked the platform or the connections to reach the next level. IRCNA was built to fill that gap. We are not just a newsroom; we are a hub where stories connect people to the services, opportunities, and networks they need to succeed.

• Stories: We move away from binary, “black and white” lenses to provide a spotlight for multifaceted, authentic perspectives.
• Results: We don’t just inform; we connect. We aim to link talent with opportunity, helping our community members turn their potential into reality.

Our “Listen-First” Philosophy

To us, the “perfect” story isn’t one that chases clicks or follows a trending algorithm. It is any story where a voice—previously unheard or ignored—is given the space to resonate. My goal is simple: when you finish an article, you should feel more informed and more capable of discerning for yourself the truth of the world around you.

The Reality of Independent Journalism

IRCNA is currently operated by one person: Mikael. While this allows for a deeply personal connection to the stories I tell and ensures that every word remains true to our core values, it comes with stark realities.

Operating as a solo newsroom means managing everything—from coding the website and photography to community networking and editorial layout. It is a 24/7 commitment, funded entirely out-of-pocket, driven by the belief that this work is essential for the future of Armenia. While the days are long and the work is demanding, the energy I draw from meeting you—the community—in real life is what fuels this project.

Our Vision for the Future

IRCNA is a work in progress. My goal for the next two years is to transition from a solo project into an established pillar of the Armenian community. This means:

1. Staff Growth: Building a team that shares this mission.
2. Regional Reach: Expanding our coverage from Yerevan to every corner of Armenia.
3. Deeper Impact: Creating more robust networking channels to ensure that the talent we highlight gets the tangible support it deserves.
